PLATFORM
One Link Architecture
Overview
Palomino is building a full-link interconnect platform for high-performance compute systems. Starting from a foundation in MicroLED optical interconnects, Palomino has expanded to include MicroLED, MicroVCSEL, and Copper engine technologies to address the full range of link requirements across AI, data center, and advanced computing infrastructure.
Technology Selection Logic
Palomino selects the right engine technology based on the needs of the link. MicroLED supports dense, low-power optical interconnects, MicroVCSEL supports scalable optical communication architectures, and Copper supports short-reach electrical links where cost, simplicity, and latency are key.
Performance Dimensions
The platform is optimized across the dimensions that matter most in modern compute infrastructure: bandwidth, power, reach, latency, cost, and integration. This full-link approach allows Palomino to match each interconnect requirement with the most effective engine technology.
MicroLED
Best for:
- Optical interconnect innovation
- High bandwidth density
- Low power optical signaling
- Short-reach and dense optical applications
MicroVCSEL
Best for:
- Proven optical communication architectures
- Scalable optical links
- Data center and system-level integration
- Applications where VCSEL familiarity matters
Copper
Best for:
- Cost-sensitive links
- Short-reach electrical interconnects
- Hybrid optical/electrical architectures
- System designs where copper still wins economically
Palomino is not betting on one interconnect path.
We are building the full link using the right engine for each performance, reach, power, and cost requirement.
Have a system requirement that needs faster, more efficient data movement?
